Note: Check back for more updates to the food journal…

. . . .

I have to keep reminding myself that I’m on a mission to do two things:

  • 1. Eat to lower blood pressure and triglycerides.
  • 2. Eat to lose weight and work toward peak performance levels.

I really need to start taking my blood pressure readings daily, but I have to “find” my blood pressure monitor first. Then, I’ll chart it on a spreadsheet, or do I dare chart it publicly here?

I haven’t been mentioning this with my food journals, but I have been taking my medications, plus vitamin & mineral supplements, usually with a glass of water. Perhaps, I should start documenting this as well.

Breakfast – 7am

No time to eat a decent breakfast.

Coffee ~ “Colombia Supremo” (Trader Joe’s), 1 cup

Mid-Morning – 9:30am

Hot food, good for a cold morning! No strawberries or blueberries, so going with Asian Pear slices.

Oatmeal ~ 1/3 cup, 1/2 water, asian pear slices
Egg ~ boiled
Water ~ 1 cup

Lunch – 12:30pm

A decent lunch. Tried an apple, but I prefer pears over apples now. Organic brussel sprouts are smaller but tastier.

Salmon Shio Yaki ~ w/teriyaki, 2 oz
Brussel Sprouts ~ steamed, 8 pc
Apple ~ red delicious, diced, 1/3
Mint Tea ~ 1 cup

Snack Item: Wasabi Peas, 1/2 cup

Afternoon Tea – 5pm

Snack Item: Edamame Peas ~ dried, 1/4 cup (Whole Foods)

Dinner – 7pm

Was very busy today, so I missed out on a decent Afternoon Tea time. And ate more than I usually eat at one meal (slightly more), and experienced food coma symptoms. Need to explore this, but I’ve been waking up super-early last two days.

Nigiri Sushi ~ salmon, 6 pc
Brussel Sprouts ~ steamed, 4 pc
Asian Pear ~ 1/4, diced
Almonds ~ smoked, 1/2 cup
Green Tea ~ 1 cup

Late Evening

Almonds ~ smoked, 1/2 cup
Mint Tea ~ 1 cup, from the garden
Water ~ 1 glass
