04.25.2013 “Telemann Thursdays” Edition

“Classical, Romantic and Baroque music, that’s what I really like.”Joan Armatrading

. . . .

I <3 Telemann's music. It's been a recent obsession of mine, perhaps because I have neglected Telemann for Bach all these years, and finally discovered that Telemann in some respects was a more prominent contemporary of Bach's during that period of history. But Bach's music was a bit more ahead-of-its-time, perhaps, while Telemann was extremely popular. I just love Telemann's sense of melody. Anyway, today's focus will be on Telemann for a bit. . . . .
