05.04.2013 “Ramen” Edition

Friday’s food post was a feast alright!

Occasionally, I will use a pack of Ichiban Ramen Noodles purchased from the local Japanese Market. Ichiban noodles are better quality than your typical ramen found at the supermarket.

Of course, the problem with ramen is the high sodium content in the flavor packet. The other problem is that they are noodles, and I need to avoid too much intake of grains because of the potential triglyceride levels.

Here’s what I do with Ichiban Ramen noodles.

  • 1. I will break the dried noodles in half.
  • 2. Then I cut the flavor packet in half with a pair of scissors.
  • 3. I place these into a bowl and add purified water.
  • 4. Then I add lots of broccoli, and maybe a boiled egg. Then heat it up.
  • 5. The best way is to boil all the ingredients in a pot.
