Coldness, In Quiet Places

March 17th, 2005

Coldness,
in quiet places,
lost in deep reflection.

Silence,
shadows before me,
distance between subtle changes,
chances misbegotten.

Longing,
with sorrow,
on thoughts of
what might have been,
a change for want of a certain space.

In time,
immeasurable,
forsaking all emotion,
like a harness that clings
to the obvious distance,
between two points of light,
like a star, pointed to by a flashlight.

And searching for a star
with a flashlight,
knows its futility,
as I ponder
in this coldness,

this quiet place
of grays, hues and
long forgotten memories.
