gigging in suits

All of my gigs involve wearing a suit, but I can only afford so many suits. Recently, I bought a new suit which was on sale for $115.00. Fortunately, the one that fit me was on sale, so I don’t have to have it tailored.
I need more suits, but I currently have the following: white tux, black tux, gray-green suit, black suit, dark-blue pinstripe suit (vintage), shiny black suit (50’s style which I never wear), and a black pinstripe zoot suit. Well, maybe one or two more suits, maybe a bright red suit for valentine’s day gigs! *hehe*
I have a gig with a local jazz quartet this coming Thursday. My first time performing with this project, so wish me luck please, or send thoughts and prayers my way. I’ll surely need it. My goal is to get back to speed with the gigs and try to play almost every night like I did in the latter half of the 1990s.
On Friday I’ll be back at Tio Leo’s with the big band, and on Saturday I’ll play keyboards at Bistro 221. I desperately need gigs during the week and I may have to go out again and sit in at these local late-night jam sessions! Of course, I’m a family man so it’s hard for me to do that nowadays. We’ll see…

maybe just show up at venues, play, and then tell management how much they owe you :) …
is “shiny black suit (50’s style which I never wear)” code for “always wear”? i have a feeling that it’s your programming uniform, so just toss on your coding cap and you’re set ;)
