european vacation

May 16th, 2005

It’s official: Just purchased plane tickets to Europe. First time, ever. And this is the 25th wedding anniversary gift and vacation we’ve been waiting for, like, forever! 15 days, so now to plan the whole trip… 3 days London, 3 days Paris, the remainder in Italy, and stops in-between and along the way.

If anyone has experience traveling in Europe please chime in. Since it’s our first trip, any suggestions and advice are most welcome. :)

We’ll be there from August 16th to August 30th.

I am so jealous. Ever since my art history II class ended, I’ve been wanting to go to Italy and Paris to see all the paintings, sculptures, and buildings I learned about.

I was supposed to go to Belgium, France, and Switzerland during my junior year of high school, but the trip was cancelled. ah well.

denise: sorry to hear that your trip to europe was cancelled.

my wife and i just celebrated our 25th anniversary, and usually couples renew their vows and have a whole wedding ceremony and reception all-over-again.

instead, we’ve been saving our money for a very long time.

others have had the opportunities to go when they were younger, like my sister-in-law and her husband. they were fortunate enough to study at the philips institute in the netherlands, so from there they traveled throughout europe in their twenties.

we’d been putting off our opportunity for so long. this has been a long time coming.

Congrats Carlos! My dad says that for their 30th anniversary (next year) he wants the whole family to go to Europe and go back to all the places we used to live or visit.

Lisa: thanks. it seems i’ve waited practically a lifetime to have the opportunity to go to Europe, and i’m sure you’ll get there too. :)

Key: thank you. and i’m sure that your parents’ 30th anniversary will be a most joyous occasion. i’ve always thought Europe was the best place to celebrate special anniversaries. :)
