waving the white flag in surrender

I’m seriously wanting to cry right now….

I’ve had my share of problems in recent months. We all go through these things, I presume.

But, to have my laptop (which I am so utterly dependent upon) break DOWN … then my DVD player break DOWN … and then my CAR STEREO break DOWN , all in the span of 24 hours!!!! *sigh* I’m seriously feeling quite DOWN right now!

. . . .

And now my Espresso Machine is messing up on me!!! :(

  • thanks, everyone. :)

things appear to be "normalizing" now. i simply found out that i needed to clean the nozzle of my espresso/cappucino maker (yes, finally re-read the instruction booklet) *slaps forehead*.

and, i was able to return my broken down DVD player to Target. it turns out that if you paid with a credit/debit card, you don't need a receipt, and since it simply stopped playing after 3 weeks of use, i was within the 30 day return limit and they gave me my money back, in cash! :)

my CD car stereo player is still broken, but i bought a cassette tape adapter and i can connect my cheap RIO MP3 player and listen to sounds once again in the vehicle.

still waiting on my laptop. and it's supposed to be ready and fixed tomorrow! wish me luck! i couldn't afford to take it back to apple and found this small vietnamese shop that claims they can fix it. if not, i'll have to find a way to buy another laptop...
  • aww, carlos. sorry to hear about all of your frustrations. here's to lots of good things soon!
  • i know it sounds so cliche to say it here but...

happiness does not lie in our material possessions.

    right?

and yet... i too have had those moments recently. things in my car breaking off and/or malfunctioning, wanting a new tv, a new pc ... sometimes not getting the things i been wanting for a while, or having things i depend on break on me suddenly without warning -- pisses me off to no end. ack.

"why is everything i own CRAP!" i want to yell that out & pull my hair out. let's go yell that together somewhere. maybe everything will feel better after yelling a bit.
  • note: the reason i said your car is cuz... well i dont' have one. ;-)
  • GAH! let's go beat up your stuff that broke down, office space style. (you know with rap music and some bats in a backyard) unless you haven't seen that movie then..... gansta style! :-)

cheer up carlos. you can come over and listen to music here and i'll drive you around in your car and sing songs so you'll never need a stero. hehe ok maybe you want to get that fixed.

arg. i know the feeling totally. take a deep breath and know that some people are happy to get a cup of water and a safe place to sleep :)

Gads!! A couple of months ago a transformer near my mother's house exploded and caused a big surge. She lost her TV, WebTV (no big loss) and her microwave all at the same time. Hope you get back on track soon....
  • *hug*

i hope it won't be too painful to get everything fixed.
  • *hugs* it's funny how we learn to depend on our machines so much, you know.. when people used to depend on other things (horse & carriage... etc.)

everything will look up. :) i'm sure after the machines are fixed you will be rewarded. :]
  • Thanks, Steve! I'm trying but as you can see, now my Espresso Machine is messing up as well.

Has there been a huge solar flare or something? Seriously, for 4 machines to break down in a little more than 24 hours, this is ridiculous! :(
  • what a case of the Machine Blues.. Carlos, be strong !!
