:-D yay you did the survey!
i’d love to eat your veggie meatballs. i’ve been in a veggie funk lately. :-D
shostakovich symphony 10 is AWESOME! i was looking through old music from youth symphony and i found that one and played the cello part. yay!
we should jam together sometime :-D i think we’d have fun. you can teach me how to play improv cuz i’m terrible at it!
veggie meatballs aren’t that bad, really. it tasted pretty good to me. :)
yeah, sym 10 is AWESOME! it’s pretty dark and depressing but it’s definitely a work of art. it was composed the same year i was born, in 1958. hehe…
it would be fun to have a jam session with you. improv isn’t so bad. well because of the jazz background it’s what i do better than reading. but i can read big band charts well…
Carlos, what was it like for you to start meditating? Any difficulty? I happen to have difficulty releasing my thoughts. >_
the main difficulty is finding the time to do
it… you really need some quiet time and a quiet place free from disruption.
and simply begin emptying my mind of thoughts, to the point where i can reduce them to a thread of thoughts that can be further separated.
i always think of the analogy of a quiet lake with a mirror surface. our thoughts are ripples of waves on the lake’s surface. when you’ve made your mind like the quiet lake, then you are successful in meditation.
slow, long gentle breathing is equally important. well, hope this helps somewhat. :)
I’m a vegetarian too! :D
I think mock meat is the best creation ever, makes it easier for all vegetarians, vegans.
europe…awesome. how exciting.
my sister lives in germany right now and i want to visit her soon.
can i add that you age SUPER well? i thought you were younger than me at first but then i figured you were just a little older like 27, 28. haha carlos! yoga keeps you young huh? i’m thinking about starting yoga classes at the local y!
:-D
maybe i didn’t watch garden state at the right point in my life, it would seem like i did though, cause a lot of my friends really like that movie also, but it just didn’t resonate the same way with me …
SanSunnyBlue: thanks for saying that. i’m surrounded by meateaters who give me a hard time about my choice. especially at filipino parties where the host or hostess gets offended because i can’t eat anything there. hehe. ;0
Susan: awesome that your sis lives in germany. i wanted to check out germany myself, especially Bavaria, but my wife wishes to concentrate on Italy after London and Paris.
Annie: thanks Annie. i’m convinced that Yoga practiced definitely helps. :) also, being a musician too like yourself. :)
Tyler: Garden State is definitely not for everyone. but it’s one of those little indie movies that i’ve personally grown to like very much. Natalie Portman’s acting to me is superb here. Zach Braff wrote, directed and acted in a great story. i guess the whole thing of Zach’s character being sedated on meds for years and suddenly coming off them, is sort of a metaphor for becoming re-awakened to the beauty of life and love. and overcoming obstacles to get there.
