i like banana republic

November 8, 2005 by randomguru

Last Sunday I went to the mall and browsed in a Banana Republic store, which is something I don’t do frequently, but admittedly have gone the last couple of times I’ve been to the mall.

After perusing through the $500.00 plus suits (which I liked, but… forget it!) and $50.00 plus shirts and pants, I found some items on sale… basically, I bought two collared longsleeve shirts on sale for less than $20.00 each, and a really nice longsleeve shirt perfect for yoga for about the same price. I seldom buy new clothes, and I’m not a fashion hound. Matter of fact, I like wearing my older clothes. It’s just that lately I’ve really needed to update my wardrobe… it was long overdue, seriously.

And I think I’m set for the next 10 years… now to look for a loincloth or a monk’s robe. hehe…

i love banana republic! last year, i bought a wool skirt and a black blouse for 26 dollars. then, on friday, i bought a wool fedora hat to match the skirt for 11 dollars (with my roommate’s employee discount).

*sigh* shopping is so expensive here I wish I was in the States again. They either sell very expensive decent clothes here of horrible ugly clothes for ridiculous prices. The clothes are just so bad that even if you pay me, I still won’t wear them. Then again I’m like you. I like “season” clothes especially the ones with holes. hahahaha

denise: sound like you had gotten better deals. i’ll try to keep an eye out for more sales.

annie: wow, you were a general manager for banana republic? amazing… what a coincidence that i’m only focusing on BR when you used to work there.

btw, be very patient with trying to get into the full poses. i have pulled a muscle or too in the past for simply trying too hard.

make sure you do the lying down pose (corpse pose), and concentrate on relaxing the individual muscles of your body. that way, when you start to do some of the poses, your muscles will feel loose and relaxed.

always start and end a yoga routine with ‘corpse pose’.

chinky: yes, shopping is so expensive! i seldom go on shopping sprees and when i do i only buy what’s on sale. but yea, i loved my seasoned clothes more… i’m glad i don’t mind slummin’ it most of the time.
