January 1st, 2006First of all, Happy New Year to all my friends, family and colleagues out there!!!
The New Year’s gig in L.A. turned out to be a really good one. Big Daddy Orchestra performed at the Cabrillo Beach Yacht Club.
Synopsis:
Heavy rain on the way up.
Thick fog on the way down.
The crowd loved us and said we were the best band that played there in 25 years!
Unfortunately, two musicians in the band were involved in a car accident after the gig, with each other!
Earnest Tibbs, an L.A. bassist who has performed with Natalie Cole, gigged with us. And an excellent L.A. saxophonist (of which I blanked on his name) gigged with us too.
All-in-all, a great show, we received lots of compliments, and they treated us very well… with food and drinks.
