So dream, when the day is through
dream, and they might come true

Things never are as bad as they seem
so dream, dream, dream…

—-Johnny Mercer

1. Last night I suddenly woke up in the middle of the night grabbing my right calf muscle, realizing I had a cramp in my leg. Deep breathing helped make it go away. But today I’m limping around.

. . . .

2. Movies I recently watched: Just Like Heaven (rental), which is a nice movie but I didn’t like it as much as Serendipity, which I shamefully watched again recently, and which I am now convinced is a WONDERFUL movie. It’s right up there now in my all-time top 10 list!

3. I’m listening to all sorts of music nowadays… a very eclectic mix. But right now I’m focused on music from “Serendipity”… Nick Drake - Northern Sky… David Gray - January Rain… and certain pieces from Pride & Prejudice… Stars and Butterflies… The Secret Life of Daydreams… but the most touching music I’m listening to right now is from Ladies in Lavender… A Broken Heart… Fantasy for Violin and Orchestra… and the title theme. Ladies in Lavender is a rather slow moving movie, but if you give it a chance it’s a wonderful story, about two spinster sisters who help a young man recover from near drowning, and each falls in love with him. It’s sad and melancholy, but the music is really beautiful, and the location (Sussex, England?) near the ocean is beautiful as well.

4. Tonight is a country club gig. It’ll be easy, we’ll start early and quit early, and that’s nice. And I should be at the Bistro this Friday and Saturday. The Jack’s gig was moved to Thursday but my prior commitment with the country club gig prevented me from doing that.

5. It’s finally becoming more sunny and warm in San Diego now. Hope it continues because I’ve been freezing lately… for a native San Diegan, that is…

6. Oh, back to recent music listened to… I’m currently listening to Audrey Hepburn sing “Moon River”. Her voice is a little weak and it’s just voice and guitar with a splash of strings attached to the end. Well, only Audrey Hepburn can get away with singing slightly off, because, well… she’s Audrey Hepburn!

7. And I mustn’t forget Keith Jarrett: I’ve been listening to tracks from his LIVE “Radiance” album… all the music is improvised.

8. Hope everyone has a great day today and also a wonderful weekend. Peace & Love!

i’m sorry carlos i actually don’t have time to read this but i’m writing to let you know that i went to serendipity’s tonight and i had the frozen hot chocolate and it was FANTASTIC. but the only thing is that i could finish 1/4 of it because it’s way too sweet for my sweet tooth.

now because i know you wanted to try it i actually bought a powered mix of the frozen hot chocolate for you as a late birthday gift and will send it out hopefully over the weekend. i was worried that you may now eat it cuz you’re into raw foods but please please at least try it ok? :)
