life really IS beautiful…
May 5th, 2006There isn’t much more I can say about life that hasn’t already been expressed in this song.
Of course, as Cyn would know, this part of the song is my favorite part:
I see skies of blue….. clouds of white
Bright blessed days….dark sacred nights
And I think to myself …..what a wonderful world.
The only thing I could add would be that it is so important to keep a positive approach to life. So many times I myself have regretted doing something, or not doing something, but what I’ve learned is to not regret anything. Life is too short and fleeting to be worried and concerned with such frivolities.
In the past, I’d been tortured by guilt and depressed about my failures. The thing is, life can begin anew each and every day. The real joy is living exactly within the moment. And not complicate one’s life. Simplify.
Not that we don’t have things to do and accomplish in life, but I guess the idea is to make sure we set aside time for personal reflection, time for ourselves to become enlightened with the beauty of life, with the universe.
As long as we have moments where we can watch the rain or snow coming down. Or to find a place high above the sea and watch a sunset. Or to go for a nice Sunday walk in the park… then we’ve succeeded in making our lives a little more fuller, a little more cheerful…
. . . .
Anyway, I’ve been listening to a lot of The Beatles’ music lately. Kind of a nostalgic trip for me.
Also, I found a copy of Desiderata on the web. One part of it I really love is:
You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
In the grand scheme of things… in this hectic, crazy world we live in… the Desiderata has always reassured me and put me back on track as far as “approaching life” is concerned.
One thing we all should do is gaze at the stars at night and appreciate the awesome universe we live in. Maybe one evening, I might be doing the same exact thing, and it would be like we were gazing at the same beautiful picture, wherever we may be in this world.
We have a right to be here. We are children of this universe…

I love that song. And yeah, regrets will get you no where if you keep on obsessing over it instead of learning from them. ^_^ Haha, even though I’m a pessimist, I can be an optimist once in a while.
