After and Before…

May 18th, 2006

Yoga 008I unfortunately have genes and a metabolism that makes it very easy for me to gain weight. That has been the reality of my life, so I have to work harder to stay in shape and to stay lean.

The photo to the left was taken some months ago… as a vegan, doing yoga, and running and swimming when time permitted.

heavy carlosHere’s an old photo of me in the early 1990’s, when I didn’t care about what I ate, and didn’t do yoga or do any form of exercise at all. And it looked like I just finished a big bag of chips!

I was really out-of-shape.

So, I think I’ve come a long way since then. But I’ve realized that I have to keep working at maintaining and improving my body, mind and heart… I know it’s all connected some way, and one has to keep working at it to maintain a healthy sense of balance, or it all falls apart.

Anyway, this old photo is here to remind me that I must keep working on staying lean and fit and healthy, for myself and for my loved ones.

Well, that really is dedication to maintain your body’s health and mental health. I should do that too, but am absolutely lazy and …well time does not permit to do so at the moment. *sighs*

For the most part, people take their own bodies for granted. It’s amazing how much change can take place with simple adjustments in daily (eating and exercise) habits and routines.

      Good work, C.

it’s your focus and your inner strength that always amazes me. not only are you being in shape and healthy for yourself but for those around you and that is one of the kindest most selfless thing you could ever do. i’m proud that you are my friend and proud that you have lost so much weight and been healthy about it too. i need to be inspired to be more in shape and you did it my friend! keep it up carlos~~ you’re a inspiration to us all
