odds and ends

0. Just to let everyone know, I’m available to teach drum and piano lessons. I have a few piano students so far, and no drum students, though I’m more knowledgeable in drums. I’m preparing to teach my students Christmas Songs to get an early start on the Holiday Season.

My lessons are pretty reasonable. $20 for one 1/2 hour lesson. $30 for a full hour. I only have level 1 and 2 piano students so far.

1. Played two fun gigs this past weekend, one was the Memory Walk in Balboa Park… ugh, up early for that one. And the other was at Clay Park near San Diego State, and got to go home early for a change.

2. Ugh. Life seems to be a series of broken things. First my son’s iPod (again), then the family’s HP Laptop just won’t turn on! And I still need to save money to get my Powerbook G4 fixed! Our family’s dishwasher is broken as well… *sigh*.

3. At least I was able to buy an Airport Express, finally. They say it’s easy to set up in a wireless network, but with a “mixed” wireless network linking Macs and PCs? It was more complex than I had originally thought. Anyways, this morning I was finally able to get songs on my iTunes to play on my stereo system downstairs! Excellent… at first I was frustrated because the music kept dropping out every few seconds or so… but I figured it out. I set up the Airport Express as a remote base and the music sounded crystal clear. Something to cheer about today.

4. Yesterday (Sunday) I did a very nice yoga routine for approximately 90 minutes, then another short routine later in the evening. I really felt energized yet calm. Today I did a shorter yoga routine and took it easy.

5. I’m not really into the whole Halloween thing this year. I did buy some candy for the tricker treaters but someone’s been eating them. I’ll have to get some more tomorrow. The only scary movies I watched recently was the remake of The Omen (a little disappointing to me), and the Steven Spielberg/Tobe Hooper classic, Poltergeist! One of my favorite movies and not really all that scary now, since I’ve seen it one too many times. I’m afraid to see Saw III, so I’ll wait for it to come out on DVD.

6. We’re almost into November. My how the year has flown by…
