a proper copyright notice in php

For those of us who run their sites using PHP, here’s a very simple tip that will save you that extra time spent at the end of the year when it’s time to change those copyright notices.

Using the code below, you won’t ever have to change that copyright notice again:

© 2005-< ?php echo date('Y');?>

Of course, you can implement this in a “footer.php” file that can be place at the bottom just before the ending “body” tag.

< ?php require("./footer.php"); ?>

And never have to change that copyright notice again…

’tis the season?

The other day my son and I were putting up the Christmas lights around the outside of the house. Then, as we were almost done and most of the lights had been tediously placed, something shortcircuited and all the lights suddenly went out and wouldn’t go on again.

So far, all those lights still aren’t working and will have to be taken down, and new ones put up.

This has pretty much been my year so far… just bad luck all around, it seems. And now my site here is somehow messed up. *sigh*
