cvs and poor customer service

January 8th, 2007

“Do what you do so well that they will
want to see it again and bring their friends.”
—WALT DISNEY

To make a long story short, I was at the newest CVS pharmacy/store and I needed help so I asked one of the store clerks and he said, “hold on a minute”.

After a minute he came back and he basically ignored me, passed me by and went to the other side of the counter.

Thinking nothing of it at first, I got into the regular line to ask the other clerk behind the counter. When I happened to be the next in line, there was that one guy, that store clerk who ignored me. He was supposed to call me up to the counter. Well, he didn’t call and he quickly left his cash register and walked away to another part of the store.

“If we don’t take care of our customers, someone else will.”
UNKNOWN

Okay, I was getting peeved at this point. I then lined up again and the lady clerk behind the counter walked away as I pulled up to the front of the line, to probably go on break or have a smoke, who knows?

That’s when I said to myself, “I’m never coming here again! I’m totally boycotting this place!”

When I got home, I promptly wrote an email to the customer service support on the CVS website, a nasty letter where I pour out all my frustrations and disappointments. It felt good! But I demanded an apology and I doubt I’ll get that. And I doubt I’ll ever come back to that store again. And I won’t even link to the CVS website because they don’t even deserve that.

How annoying! Bad customer service is the deal-breaker for me, no matter how good their product, and/or it’s the only place I can buy the product.

      UPDATE:

i got an email from a representative of CVS, basically saying that if i wanted to file a complaint i can call a toll free number…

      no apology, no sympathy… whatever…

i just may call that 1-800 number soon just to make a big stink about the whole ordeal. might as well carry it to the next level…

Do it!!! We use CVS (Savon) all the time, I think their overall service level went down after CVS took over…

okay, that is the same exact thing i experienced. what used to be Savon is now CVS and now they seem to suck.

y’know… i don’t know of any walgreens store around my neighborhood. but i’ll do a search and try them for a change.

UPDATE: i finally got an apology letter via email from some manager/rep at CVS. they are asking me for the address of the CVS store and my name and address….

should i give it to them? i guess the apology was enough, but the store must be notified if they are to improve their customer relations…

if someone were to get fire becuase of me i’d feel bad too.
