today’s notable links…
January 31st, 2007I must say, there’s a lot going on today around the web. Instead of posting a whole slew of entries I’ll just recap what I’m seeing:
- The history of the personal computer in TV commercials
- Being somewhat of an old-timer (my first exposure to a personal computer was in the late 70s), I’m really digging this article. You have to check out these old commercials. Fascinating stuff! - Flickr Users Are Mad as Hell About Today’s Yahoo News - Everyone I know online has a Flickr account. So, us old schoolers are going to be resigned to logging in via our Yahoo accounts! I’m a little peeved myself, because apparently we’ll be giving up some free features like unlimited tags and contacts, etc… oh pooey!
- 23 Ideas for Finding New Readers for Your Blog - This might be useful for bloggers who’ve just started a brand new blog (or two) like myself. Btw, I’ve started another new blog over at Vox.com!
- Vista News: What REALLY happened when Bill Gates was leaving The Daily Show set! - Any Vista users out there yet? Anyway, here’s Bill Gates being interviewed by Jon Stewart. Here’s the original video footage.
- Bush Administration Turns Up The Heat on Iran - And the United States of America could be going to war against Iran, in addition to Iraq, and let’s not forget we have troops in Afghanistan.
- The Last Minute HD Super Bowl Party Guide - A great read about HD-TV and HD-related toys, for those who want to make an excuse for getting a brand new HD-TV Home Theater system… Super Bowl time is coming!
- Digg.com: The Real Story - A bit of sick humor, but funny. A mock video by Heywood Jablome about Kevin Rose and the Digg.com story.
