I Was Sick During The Gig, And Freezing!
February 5th, 2007Funny how information can be mis-interpreted. I was going to be wearing my tuxedo and thought that would be warm enough. And I assumed a lot of things that can never be guaranteed at a gig.
Anyway, I was going into this gig feeling sick with coughing and generally aches and pains. To make a long story short, this gig felt like it would never end. It was torture and I was shivering the whole night. I definitely needed an overcoat but the fact is I don’t own one, being that San Diego usually doesn’t have such cold night time temperatures. Just one more clue of Global Warming? Perhaps.
So, I’ve been resting up today and taking Nyquil. Just trying to rest up for another gig tomorrow downtown, and a possible rehearsal afterwards.
Must rest now….

And just when I’d imagined that you must be recovering from your cold/flu…*sigh* Poor you! My sympathies. In Japan, the lady in our neighbourhood fixes a drink out of ginger essence, bonito flakes, onion, and ume (or pickled plums) heated/boiled (?) over a fire. It sounds yucky, but does not taste half as bad, and it sure works on our cold when we catch one.
Stay hyrdated is another frequent advice i get. Hope it helps. :-)
