jazz and swing at the mcasd…

February 6th, 2007

I just got back from a gig at the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego (MCASD), next to the train depot and the trolley station in downtown San Diego.

I am still feeling sick and under-the-weather, but I had to play the gig (I don’t get paid sick leave, being a contract musician). But I got through the gig better than the other night. It was indoors, for one. And the audience was better attuned to our music.

To keep my energy up I had to sip on a bottle of mountain dew. Also, I’ve been bringing 3 different ride cymbals to the gigs. My “dry” Zildjian K cymbal worked really well in the “echoey” room. And it was nice to get home early, just in time to watch American Idol, yeah! *hehe*
