but i wasn’t there!
March 2, 2007 by randomguru
I recently received a parking citation in the mail. It claimed that I was parked in a zone designated for street sweeping on January 25, 2007 at 5.33am.
The problem?
I wasn’t IN Long Beach on that day, let alone at 5.33 in the morning! Way too early for me!
So, I’ve been trying to call them and I keep getting this message saying I’m on hold and someone will be with me shortly… but, I was on hold for half an hour!
I hope to resolve this issue soon because I wasn’t in Long Beach on that day, and haven’t been in Long Beach since I did a New Year gig there two years ago!

Very strange, maybe someone broke into your garage, drove to Long Beach, parked illegally and drove back and put your car back in your garage one night. Or not… ;-)
I would hazard a guess that either the RSTA office (don’t the US equivalent, sorry!*lol*) made a mistake, or someone is driving around with your number plate, or it’s one of those scam direct mails, that seem to be so popular in Japan since two years ago, asking you to pay bills that you have no recollection of!
crazy! or maybe they got the plate down wrong… most citations include the make and model of the car!
yeah, this thing kind of scared me because i was thinking this could be an identity theft thing? anyway, i am almost certain it’s a situation where the meter maid wrote down the wrong license number.
