uc riverside guided tour
April 2nd, 2007My wife and I took our oldest son to UC Riverside earlier today.
We didn’t expect such a thorough campus tour, and we were quite impressed yet pretty tired from walking all over the campus. At least at the end, we were able to ride a shuttle to the dorms (um, resident halls) and had a guided tour through the dorms, gym, computer labs and other facilities.
We haven’t given an official “yes” yet, but it looks like my son really wants to go to UC Riverside. And with that we are proud and happy that our son is going to a UC. Of course, along with the joy and happiness that our son is going away to college, there comes also the worry concerning the financial stuff and also worrying if he’ll do well academically.
I’m beginning to realize that this is going to be a major change in my family. But it’s one of those “passages” in life, and we have to be there for our son and help him through it all…
*sigh* A parent just never quite stops worrying…
[ btw, Daynah is a graduate and alumni of UC Riverside and has some great pics of their trip in Japan ]

Ah, good old UCR! I’ve only been there at night, to go to The Barn, saw some good bands there, like the Dance Hall Crashers. Oh, yeah, the school is nice too! ;-) Congrats on your son’s abilities!

Annalise: thanks so much! i relayed the message to my son, and he knows through your ‘about me’ page that you graduated (w/double major) from UC Irvine and finished your masters at UCLA.
you’re an inspiration to us! :)
