three php programmer interviews in two days
April 24th, 2007I’m exhausted!
Yesterday I had an interview and had to take 3 (three) tests on PHP, MySQL and Javascript. Then this morning I had another interview and had to take another 2 (two) tests on PHP and MySQL, both extremely difficult!
The PHP test taken yesterday was the easiest of the 5 (five) tests. I got a 90% on it.
Then I had the third interview earlier in the afternoon at 2pm, and was tested by 2 (two) programmers who had me solve various logic and coding problems by writing them out on a white board! That last interview took 2 hours.
Has anyone been tested on this problem before?
Yes, now I’m feeling the exhaustion…… this is what I get for submitting my resume to Monster.com! ;-)

So how are going to choose the jobs ? Based on the salary or based on how tough the interview questions were ? :)

Sounds promising, 90% sounds great to me! The last programming I did was in assembly language, none of that higher level stuff! ;-)

Pat: I took assembly language when I was finishing up my 2 year Certificate Degree at Grossmont College.
Assembly Language “kicked my butt”. No wonder it was the last programming language. It was by far the toughest. and now I think I’ve forgotten it all…
Developer: Well, I’m not jumping to conclusions. And not getting my hopes up for nothing. But if so, maybe based on the interview with the tough questions… if they offered me the position. :)

Ah, Assembly Language is just a state of mind. Moving bits around, XORing, pushing/poping the stack, counting machine cycles, ah, the good ol’ days!

pat: sounds like you remember more than i did regarding assembly. i did get an ‘A’ in the class and my final project was creating a ball that bounced around in the computer screen, the edges of the screen were the boundaries. but i think i forgot it all. i need to read my assembly book just to recall everything.
