Another Car Accident!

So, I was driving out on the freeway last night on my way to the gig, when all of a sudden I hear this loud BOOM! And a big JOLT! Then I realized that someone had hit me from behind.
I quickly checked my rear and side view mirrors and I saw this Indian looking guy and the front of his car was all smashed in. I quickly pulled over to the emergency lane and so did the guy who hit me. I got out of my vehicle and checked the damage. It looked very minimal, the rear bumper was dented in and the exhaust pipe was rubbing against my left rear tire. And I quickly kicked the exhaust pipe away from the tire.
Looking back toward the guy who hit me, I noticed he had stopped in the emergency lane too, and suddenly he sped away! So basically I was involved in a hit-and-run accident.
I was really stunned by the whole thing, and by the time I got to the gig I was still a little shaken, yet thankful the accident wasn’t worse, that I was still able to get to the gig. But I ended up drinking a couple of glasses of Sangria just to calm me down.

Hit and run? Dang! Well, it’s good that you are ok and the damage isn’t too bad.

Sorry to hear of the car accident.
I, too, am glad you are okay.
Zaya: thanks so much! my thought throughout the weekend was that the accident could’ve been much worse. so, i’m counting my blessings.
Sorry to hear about your accident, Carlos, but I’m glad you were all right. Too bad you weren’t able to get the license plate number. If I ever get into an accident, I will make sure I have my digital camera or cell phone camera ready to take pictures, especially of the other car(s).
Manny: Thanks, man. I think I’m beyond the “traumatized” phase now…
[...] Last year I was bumped from behind by another car on the freeway and because my vehicle was bigger I suffered very minor damage, but the other vehicle looked totalled yet seemed drivable. We both pulled over to the emergency lane but then the other guy took off and made the incident a hit-and-run. Maybe he didn’t have insurance? [...]
