facebook versus myspace!

There has been a lot of talk about Facebook unseating MySpace as the top social network. While that may (or may not) happen sometime in the future, the so-called gray lady of Social Networks is holding its own.

So, which do YOU prefer?

Recently, I have been enjoying Facebook more than Myspace, and if it weren’t for the ability for me to maintain my gig schedule on Myspace and being able to “scrape” it to my gigs page on this domain, I would just delete my Myspace account right now!

But here are a few more reasons for me to switch to Facebook completely:

  1. GUI: The graphical user interface is so much more cleaner and prettier on Facebook.

  2. Organization: Everything is so much more functional and organized on Facebook, that it’s easier and less of a pain to update profiles and such.

  3. Apps: This might actually be a detriment now that there are so many Apps available now on Facebook. But, I really like the “movies” app and a couple of others, that make interaction more fun.

  4. More Social Networking: On Facebook there is more interaction, options, and more ways to connect with everyone in your networks. I think it’s the most interactive social networking site on the web right now. And for that alone, Facebook has a chance to overtake Myspace.

  5. Spamming: There seems to be more opportunities for spammers to infiltrate at Myspace than on Facebook. Matter of fact, I don’t really remember receiving any spam over at Facebook. It’s a pretty secure place compared to Myspace.

Now if Facebook can only manage my gig schedule… then I’d become a total Facebook convert…. anyone know of an app I can add that can do that?

    I definitely like facebook more than myspace. I like that you can change around the layout of your page, but not make it absolutely crazy so that it takes forever to load like myspace. It’s stupid, but I also like the tagging feature for the photos. that way, you don’t have to keep posting bulletins or commenting to announce that you have photos of people up.

    i definitely agree about the problems with myspace and people getting out of control with their layouts and adding a lot of junk, basically, which takes forever to load!

    oh, yes, that’s a good feature to mention, the tagging feature for photos.
