evacuation a possibility
October 21st, 2007I’m really pissed off right now.
The local news stations are saying that my area may have to evacuate, and we’ll see where the direction of the fires go around 1 or 2 in the morning. The emergency evacuation center has been moved from Poway High School to Mira Mesa High School, which is west of my area.
The fires continue to rage out of control in the Northeast.
I went to the supermarket to buy extra bottled water in cases. The store was almost out, except for two cases. I bought the last two.
There was a tree knocked down on the way to the supermarket, blocking the road, apparently the result of strong winds. Police were there to ensure that cars didn’t run into it.
The winds have picked up and the air is getting too smokey. Ashes are still falling.
