12:30pm update on fires…
October 22nd, 2007BREAKING NEWS: All Solana Beach residents are advised to plan, pack and be prepared to evacuate. Workers prepare to defend Pomerado Hospital as flames near.
Local authorities are already saying that this is worse than the Cedar Fire of 2003. There are at least 8 separate fires burning in San Diego County, and a new fire in San Ysidro near the border.
The evacuation area has extended to everyone south of the 78 freeway, north of the 56 freeway and all the way to the I-5 freeway near the coast.
Solana Beach residents are advised to get ready to evacuate.
Qualcomm Stadium has been a major evacuation center since early this morning.
The Evacuation Center at Mira Mesa High School is at capacity.
Leucadia does not have to evacuate at this time.
