not a normal monday morning…
October 22nd, 2007BREAKING NEWS: Interstate 15 closed from state Route 78 to Ted Williams Parkway/state Route 56; fire jumps interstate just south of Pomerado at West Bernardo Drive. (From Sign-On San Diego)
I didn’t sleep well last night…. slept on the couch with the TV on, just in case I’d wake up to any warnings that I should evacuate.
Extremely low humidity and high winds….
Have packed up some valuables just in case. The next step would be to load them all into the car, which I just may do in the next hour or two. The way these wild fires work is that they are fueled by the low humidity and strong Santa Ana winds coming from the northeast. These fires ARE out of control and firefighters can not contain them.
It is confirmed that there are 8 separate fires burning in San Diego County this morning.
“A trial by fire… not pun intended”, as one local news reporter put it.
