Smog Check Failed…

I’m totally bummed out right now…
My car failed the smog check. Has anyone had their car fail the smog check before?
We’re going to get it re-tested at a place that can also fix the problem.
Someone mentioned it could run as high as $1,900 because of a catalytic converter!
Okay, that’s money that could’ve been used for Christmas shopping. And if it does come to that, then it’s going to be a lean Christmas for me this year…. *drat*
I hate cars!

Damn, I hope it isn’t the catalytic converter!! Is the car very old? That is an unusual failure, as far as I know…
the car’s 1995. and basically has been in good running condition and it looks good too. so, this was a shock to us about the catalytic converter. hopefully, it won’t be too expensive.
instead of paying for this, we were hoping to get the air conditioning fixed.
Can you have it looked at at another shop?
Went to another shop, and they quoted a price that is less than half of that first estimate. So, I’m feeling better about it. The damage won’t be that bad.
