Signs of Life in 2008

January 1st, 2008

Happy New Year, everyone!

If your reading this, then you’ve made it to another year on Earth. Or, you haven’t been to my site, yet. But, you’re definitely reading this because I myself have made it to a new year. Thank God.

Anyway, after a New Year’s gig, I am always paranoid about running into a drunk driver early in the morning on New Year’s Day on my way home. And over the years I’ve seen a lot of crazy drivers out there around this time of year.

But, last night’s gig turned out to be a big success. And I heard that there was more than 1,500 people there on the Midway aircraft carrier. The entrance price was $159 per person, or $1,590 for 10 people.

I don’t really mind playing Top40 and Dance Music nowadays. Though I’d rather be playing jazz or flamenco or something more creative. But I had fun nonetheless. I’ve been performing dance music ever since my high school days. So it’s always fun for me. My wife said it was really sounding good out there on the dance floor.

So, here we are in 2008. The first day.

I was thinking about doing a personal review of 2007. You know… The Good, The Bad and the Ugly of 2007. But I think I just want to focus on the possible good in 2008. 2007 is now history. And there will always be our good moments, our bad, and some incredibly ugly moments that we would rather just forget.

A New Year. A clean slate.

A few wonderful things have already happened to me that have found its way into 2008. And I’ll have to write about those things in detail and depth. And stay positive, and keep that positive energy flowing.

And good thing. I was up at 7am this morning with lots of energy! My mostly raw vegan diet allows me to wake up earlier now and feeling energetic, without having to jumpstart my body with caffeine. Which, for the most part I’ve given up.

And I’m ready to start the New Year working in the garden. In previous years, I’d still be asleep until 12noon after a New Year’s gig and not getting home until after 2am in the morning. But here I am alive and chipper!

Anyway, welcome to 2008, everyone! May you be blessed with a good year. A prosperous year filled with Love, Peace and Happiness… and good Health.
