Akiane: Amazing 12 Year Old Art Prodigy
February 13th, 2008Cecil had emailed me a link to a CNN story about a young 12 year old art prodigy named Akiane Kramarik. Her paintings show a talent and insight far beyond her years, with great detail, and amazing clarity and color.

Supposedly, Akiane’s mother was an atheist “with the concept of God never discussed in their home”, yet Akiane’s paintings have exhibited an undeniable spirituality that depicts her visions of seeing Heaven and God. Her work is truly inspiring.

Akiane Kramarik was born in Mount Morris, Illinois to a Lithuanian mother and an American father. According to her website, she is homeschooled.
Primarily a self-taught painter, Akiane Kramarik started drawing at age four, painting at six, and writing poetry at seven. Her first completed self-portrait sold for ten thousand US dollars.
According to Kramarik, her art is inspired by her visions of heaven, and her personal connection with the Christian God. Kramarik’s art depicts wildlife, landscape, and people.
At the age of 10, she appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show and CNN.
