I’m sick…
October 6, 2008 by randomguru
I’m not feeling very well today. I must be coming down with something. But not only that, I’m sick of politics, the economy, the fact that the powers-that-be in this country don’t operate under the best intentions.
Basically, I don’t trust power-hungry, greedy politicians who continually make all sorts of promises that they can never, ever keep. At least not all of them, and in general they make a LOT of promises. Who are they, Jesus Christ? And the utter arrogance of some of them… as if they believe they can walk on water or something.
So, today marks the day in which I will not talk about politics ever again on this blog, nor will I twit about it on Twitter.com. The whole thing just leaves a very ill-feeling in the pit of my stomach. With all the mudslinging that’s been going on between the two major political parties, it just sickens me even more how politicians will go to great lengths to discredit their opponents. When they should be focused on how they can do the country good by improving the economy, foreign affairs, education and our general way of life. I would like to see more “integrity” in politicians. But, the reality is I’m not going to see it any time soon.
The most wonderful people that truly inspire me and give me hope in this world are those musical artists who continually strive for greater heights in their art. Those great musicians who have the gift to uplift us from this somewhat dismal world, and teach us that there is still beauty that is beyond description.
I think it is that sort of hope that keeps people going in this world, because what I’ve been seeing lately… is definitely no cause for celebrating. Hopefully things will turn around for the better because the way I’ve seen it… it’s been one heck of a roughed up year!

Amen brother.
“The most wonderful people that truly inspire me and give me hope in this world are those musical artists who continually strive for greater heights in their art.”
Just wanted to *strongly* agree with that statement, as it resonates so profoundly with my world-view as well. In fact, I’ve been doing a bunch of web work for a friend and musical mentor of mine, a composer from Northern California. Once that site is done, I’ll drop you the link, as this guy fits in with your statement more than any other composer I know of. I have a feeling you’ll like him, too, based on some of the repertoire you’ve posted.
Best regards,
-Jim (@Rawdiant on Twitter).
Hope you feel better soon!
Brent, Jim and Sue: Thank you so much! I’m feeling better, actually!
