Ringtones
. . . .

WorldRingtones.com

For those of you who like to add a new ringtone to your cell phone every week, or change ringtones more frequently than that, here’s a cool site to check out.

Basically, WorldRingtones.com is a portal site that takes you to three main destinations:

  • 1. The latest ringtones available in the United States.
  • 2. The latest hip hop ringtones from popular artists such as Lil Wayne, Mariah Carey, Rihanna, Chris Brown, Kanye West, and others…
  • 3. The latest ringtones available from the land down under… notably Australia.

Paid-For Ringtone Services

These links basically take you to paid-for services that you can subscribe to that will automatically send new ringtones to your cellphone.

There are many services to choose from and you can find one (more than likely) that will fit well with your current cellphone carrier service.

Download Wallpaper and Games Too

You can also subscribe to download wallpaper, Java games, and text services for your cellphone as well. And, I haven’t checked these out personally but I assume these are all third-party companies that are compatible with the major cellphone carriers like Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, etc.

I personally am not all that familiar with the world of ringtones and downloadable services, but it’s worth further exploration.

And I also learned about a new term called “thumbplay” while exploring this site:

Thumbplay is a U.S.-based subscription service that allows users to download music, video and games to their cell phones.

What I’d like to see more from this site are ringtones of World Music and other ethnic music, like Indian Bollywood-style music, and other music from Nepal, Burma, China, Japan, etc.

What sort of ringtones do you personally use on your cellphone? I am curious to know…
