Well, let’s just say I’m posting this as an example when one falls out of Zen….

This video is actually a combining of the infamous Christian Bale tirade on a movie set, and Bill O’Reilly’s loss of control as well in front of the camera.

I personally find this interesting, to say the least. For I am a calm, sedate, quiet individual compared to these guys! I am very tame. But… I have had my moments when I have fallen out of Zen too. Just not as bad.

But, maybe I should act this way for fun?

Okay, back to meditation and lighting candles and incense…..

Now I do agree with this. People’s “dirty laundry” shouldn’t be aired for the world to experience. Each person should have a certain amount of respect and privacy, and I agree there are two sides to every story…. Link via Michelle:

I stay out of the ‘personal gossip’ arena because frankly… can you imagine your personal shit aired for all to see. None of us are perfect, and certainly we have all sinned to some degree. Actors, Actresses, Celebrities and the people exploited on sites like TMZ. They’re human beings that I personally feel are owed the same inalienable rights that the rest of us hold dear.

Christian Bale’s estranged mother has waded into the furore over the Dark Knight star’s expletive-laden onset rant by suggesting it might help people understand her decision to report him to the police last summer following an alleged assault at London’s Dorchester hotel.

Jenny Bale, 61, told the Telegraph that she understood Bale’s anger at the time but that the foul-mouthed tirade at cinematographer Shane Hurlbut on the set of the new Terminator film was “upsetting” for her to hear. The outburst has spread rapidly across the web after an audio recording was leaked onto the internet, even being reworked into a dance hit which has become popular on YouTube.

Mela: In all honesty, Christian Bale's angry tirade is "tame" compared to legendary jazz drummer Buddy Rich's angry tirade on the Buddy Rich bus tapes!

So I can understand when artists get like that because of the pursuit of artistic excellence.

On the other side of the coin, I am sympathetic to the individuals who were the recipient of that kind of anger. Because I experienced that firsthand with angry sadistic musical directors who freely humiliate orchestra musicians in front of their own peers.

I think it's all about working in a positive, creative environment where everyone mutually respects one another for their creative abilities. That is the ideal. But, true that everyone loses their cool at one point or another.

not making excuses for Bale or anything, but I actually have witnessed a similar incident between an actor and a member of the crew while working on a film.

actors need to prepare themselves before a scene and when they're doing a scene, a lot of them go into a "zone" or whatever. so when something disrupts their concentration, some of them just flip out. maybe they're so intense because of the emotions they're trying to bring into the scene and that gets converted to aggression towards whoever distracted them.

yes, it's rude, but I kinda understand how it can happen. the actor I was working with apologized to the crew member eventually but it was extremely tense on the set for the rest of the day.
