Dreams, Gardens and Sunsets…

It’s amazing just how many photo images I’ve taken over the years.
I’ve already posted quite a few images here, on facebook and flickr, and elsewhere on the web… but often times I forget that I have so many photos still sitting in my hard drive.
So, how do you keep your pictures organized on your computer? I’ve been using Google’s Picasa. It’s FREE and is amazing at finding all images on your hard drive! Plus it has some great photo editing tools to enhance your images.
Anyway, this post is for those forgotten images that have been lost and now found. Hopefully, I will have more time to sort through all the images.

A Garden in Paso Robles, California
A couple of years ago I accompanied my wife on a business trip to Paso Robles, California.
It’s a quiet town located somewhere between San Francisco and Santa Barbara. My wife had to attend some conferences and meetings, and I had no gigs so I went along.

Daisies, Paso Robles, April 2008
The above flower photos were taken in a garden located on the grounds of the hotel in which we stayed. I had my trusty Nikon D40 with a standard kit lens (18-55mm). It was a blessing to find a beautiful garden nearby to practice on the photography skills.

The Tempestuous Rose
And there was a dedicated rose garden with many colours of hybrid tea and grand flora roses. This huge red rose caught my attention and I took several photos of this one. This was the best one of the group.

Moon Over Paso Robles
It was a bit past sunset and the half moon was up above. Looking back I wish I had a zoom lens back then. I would’ve taken a better picture. But this is what I took, of the moon above while we were relaxing in the outdoor jacuzzi.

Garden, Santa Barbara, California
My wife’s older sister lives in Santa Barbara, California, and we were able to stop by there and we spent the night. She has a beautiful English style garden with an abundance of flowers, fruits, herbs, etc. This is a photo from her backyard.

Waves Crashing, Sunset Cliffs, June 2010
And bringing us closer to the present day, here is a photo taken at Sunset Cliffs a few days ago. The sunset wasn’t what I was hoping it would be because of the marine layer, but I was able to take some interesting pictures of the waves crashing on the rocks. I have more photos from this particular day, which I will reserve for a separate post, so stay tuned…
