So, in continuing our “Just What Does She Eat, Anyway?” series, today’s focus is on the lovely and talented Jessica Alba.

Jessica Alba is one of the most beautiful leading ladies in all of Hollywood. So, it would be interesting to explore what she does to stay in top shape, and find out just what she eats in order to maintain her beautiful figure.
I recently caught her in the Robert Rodriguez film, Machete, and I must say she looked in great shape, and had a very physical role as agent Sartana Rivera.
Well, no doubt, much has already been written online about what Jessica Alba does in order to look so amazing, and to train for specific movie roles that require physical prowess and to achieve a lean, sculpted physique. I read that she was supposedly battling Anorexia in her teen years, and was much too thin. Nowadays (especially for a Mom) she looks to be in her best shape ever.
From the video interview (below), Jessica talks about her role as Max Guevara in the Dark Angel series, and what she did to get into shape for the role.
Her Training Schedule
This workout schedule centers around her training for Dark Angel, but since then she has incorporated similar workouts to keep physically fit.
- Worked with personal trainer Tony Cortes
- 11 months of training
- Studied the martial arts, specifically Kung Fu
- Worked out 5 days a week
- Practiced 1.5 hours of gymnastics a day
- 3 hours of weight training
- At least 45 minutes on various machines… elliptical, treadmill, etc.

Since her Dark Angel days, she has managed to stay in top physical condition. But according to several sources, Jessica Alba still maintains a diet and exercise program to look her best.

Here’s an article that gets into specifics about what machines she uses, her weekly exercise routine and her dietary intake. Apparently, she sticks to a South Beach diet plan that features lean chicken and meat, with lots of fruits and vegetables, and staying away from the starchy carbs and breads.

- Lean meats, poultry and seafood.
- Whole grains (but avoiding bad carbs).
- Fruits and Vegetables.
- Avoiding sugar, bad fats, processed foods.
Well, in an industry where looks and a fit body are prerequisites, it becomes a part of the job to workout and eat healthy, cut the carbs and the garbage, and do the cardio and weight training in order to look your best. And I’m sure that getting more fit is a big confidence booster as well, and a part of the process to being a success.
