Rumour Has It…

I guess you could say my wife and I are Adele fans.

I mean, we have Adele’s “21” CD and the Blu-ray disc of her Royal Albert Hall concert.

We didn’t get into her music until early last year, but we know she released her “19” album a few years back and I remember watching her debut performance on Saturday Night Live in the Fall of 2008 (which incidentally was the very same SNL show Sarah Palin made her debut appearance (if I’m not mistaken). Maybe, because Sarah Palin was on the show that night, perhaps I didn’t really notice the talents of Adele during her performances.

Rolling in the Deep

I admit that there are times when I don’t get into a singer/songwriter’s music initially, being that I am more focused on Jazz and Classical music on a daily basis, so there is a catch-up time for me to finally “really” get into singer/songwriters.

Also, admittedly, the first time I saw the video of “Rolling in the Deep”, it made such an impact for me that it was like getting punched in the gut, but in a good way.

Needless to say, we’ve had her music in rotation in both our cars for months now, and her MP3s are in our iPhones as well.

Chasing Pavements

I think it’s getting to the point where I might have to admit I’m finally getting burned out listening to her music, as lovely sounding as it is (naturally, too much of a good thing can apply here).

Maybe the point where we recently started having Adele songs as ringtones for our iPhones that caused us to suddenly realize we were being over-saturated with Adele’s music. When my wife calls me, Adele starts singing… the latest ringtone is “Rumour Has It”, as if I am eager to take her call and starting gossiping, or something!

. . . .

Someone Like You

Anyway, wherever I go I hear Adele’s music, in the supermarket, in the malls, at Blockbuster, etc…

Yep, too much of a good thing.

You know how the time flies
Only yesterday was the time of our lives
We were born and raised in a Summer haze
Bound by the surprise of our glory days

Maybe I shall take a little breather from the Adele music, so I can appreciate it even more at a later time, because I think her music will be as timeless as The Beatles, eventually.

Regardless of the burn-out, we love you, Adele! :)
