Randomguru 2.0.13 – Making Certain Commitments and Goals
I wrote in my previous post, Randomguru 2.0.13, that I was committed to setting new goals and resolutions for the New Year.
Typically, goals can be set any time of the year. Whereas, resolutions are traditionally made at the beginning of a New Year.
But, I’m going to do both here.
First off, giving an “official” title to my goals and resolutions (Randomguru 2.0.13) will (hopefully) force me to start a new tradition of naming my goals and resolutions. So, that I will have future titles like Randomguru 2.0.14 and 2.0.15 respectively, and so on.
The main inspiration is self-improvement and progress, which will translate in a positive way to those around me with whom I interact with on a daily basis and on a professional level.
So far, I will just do the macro level goals and resolutions here, then try my best to detail them in future posts.
I don’t mind sharing with my readers, as I figure if I can share what I am thinking and feeling in a public forum such as a blog, then others might benefit from it, or they might understand me a bit better.
Resolution No. 1 ~ Become A Vegan
Last year in 2012, I wasn’t a vegan or vegetarian. I mean, I went through periods where I was a raw foodist, a vegan or vegetarian, but when it came right down to it I lacked the discipline to really become any of those mentioned. So, I was basically an omnivore.
In 2013, I have committed to becoming a vegan again. That is my main goal. With a second goal of going further and becoming a “high raw” vegan, someone who eats mostly raw foods with a few cooked vegan foods here and there.
Already, I have been mostly vegan for a few weeks now, starting the transition at the beginning of the year from a pretty unhealthy “holiday diet” to one where I’m eating vegetarian food, but about 70% raw foods and 25% vegan foods. Once in a while, going vegetarian and eating dairy or eggs.
This week has been my transition to becoming a high-raw vegan. So, I am planning to be 100% vegan by next week, with an emphasis on a 70% raw food diet.
Goal No. 1 ~ Yoga Practice
I’ve already started doing Yoga this month, and my goal is to practice Yoga daily, varying my Yoga practice time, depending on how much time I have to do it each day, as long as I do some kind of Yoga routine daily.
Last year in 2012, I don’t remember doing any Yoga at all. For some reason I stopped and I felt bad about that. Though walking, jogging and hiking had replaced the Yoga.
Hopefully, I’ll be able to walk, jog, hike AND do Yoga in 2013.
But Yoga will be the priority in 2013, as I believe it is a very balanced exercise that enhances body, mind and spirit, compared to walking, jogging and hiking, when I seemed to always have sore knees!
Actions speak louder than words, so it’s one thing saying what I’m going to do, and actually doing it.
But, I HAVE been on a good course these past 2 weeks. And, I have practiced what I am writing about, so I have started that forward motion and I just need to continue going forward.
And, I’m committed to writing and documenting my actions, just like I have done in the past. It helps to keep me motivated and it’s just good to get all of this out there in order to stay positive about all my goals and resolutions.
