For me, performing music is Zen and a form of meditation. Pure music uplifts the heart and soul.
Walking, if treated appropriately, can be regarded as meditation. This is called “walking meditation”.
When you calm the mind, it becomes clear, as you focus on your breath and your mind begins to exist as “trails of thought” which you can ultimately cease to have a clear focused mind.
When the mind doesn’t “react” to outside stimuli, this becomes an opportunity to control the mind.
After controlling the mind, you can focus your attention. And many use it to focus on the divine nature of the universe and our surrounding world.
Once our mind becomes clear and focused, we can truly live in the moment. And this mental clarity can carry on after meditation as we continue through our day.
It’s an ongoing process that can be a lifelong practice.
At the very least meditation is an amazing mental practice.
At the most meditation can transform us to our best potential.
As I mentioned in my previous post, meditation is my number one New Year’s resolution. I already do it daily, but my goal is to continue on and get better at it, and go deeper into it.
It is ongoing.
And everyday it helps the mind get focused, clear and calm.
It starts with the breath…
