I’ve been following High Raw, High Carb couple Dusty & Erin.
And they vlog about the 5 foods to avoid and minimize as much as possible.
1. Refined Sugar.
3. Alcohol and Caffeine.
For the average American, totally avoiding the above 5 foods is next to impossible.
But, if you are serious about your health, and achieving optimal health and performance, it’s important to minimize the above 5 foods.
For me, I compromise with no. 1 by having 1 teaspoon of raw sugar in my morning decaf coffee.
Sodium is a challenging thing for me because I love salty things, so I will need to pay particular attention to the sodium content of foods.
I already avoid caffeine because I discovered that I became sensitive to caffeinated beverages. It would artificially boost me up, then I would eventually crash and burn, and the best I can do is to have one cup of decaf coffee, which I seldom finish anyway.
Alcohol is not much of a problem. I don’t drink beer, hard liquor or mixed drinks. But I do love an occasional red wine, mostly when dining out. But with my new wine cooler I will have to pay particular attention to my red wine drinking. But as it stands now, I can only drink one glass of red wine at a time.
Gluten is something I totally avoided in 2017 I think. And in 2018 I eased up a bit. But, I plan to go 100% gluten-free in 2019. It’s not hard for me to do. I love pasta but there are many gluten-free pastas to choose from these days.
