A Birthday Pilgrimage to the Serra Cross on Mt. Rubidoux

I think people tend to be prejudiced when it comes to age.

It’s sad to think that, but in a culture that emphasizes youth and beauty, being an old person can be a disadvantage.

I mean, you’d think that age and experience would command respect and dignity, but unfortunately that’s not always the case, and things could definitely be better.

. . . .

So, these are things I think about when my birthday comes around and I start to think that I’m another year older.

But, age is just a number and the problem with many folks is that they start to think their age, or the cultural assumptions connected with your age.

Anyway, I contemplate a LOT of things when it’s my birthday, so I thought it best to make a “pilgrimage” to one of my favorite landmarks in Californa, namely the Serra Cross on Mt. Rubidoux in Riverside.
