A Variation On Psalm 121

LIFE IS TRULY A GIFT, and each moment is a blessing… And one day we will pass on so we have to make the most of each and every moment in our lives. And thus, I can appreciate the beauty found within a moment…

Though my spiritual readings point to the East, I still continue to study Christianity, about the life of Jesus Christ, and watch old movies like “Ben Hur” and “The Ten Commandments”. Though these are old movies in the old Hollywood style, the message is there and still inspiring.

One of my favorites from The Bible is Psalm 121. But sometimes I really feel I could re-interpret it (slightly) to suit my own understanding of it. Below is my variation of Psalm 121.

Psalm 121

jesus

I lift my eyes to the hills;
from where does my help come?

It comes from God,
who made Heaven and Earth…

He will not let me stumble nor fall,
Behold, He who watches over me will never falter…

For He who watches over us
will neither sleep nor slumber.

The Lord watches over me,
He is the shade that cools me…

The sun will not harm me by day,
nor the moon by night.

The Lord will guide me,
He will preserve my soul.

He will watch over me wherever I may wander,
now, and for all eternity…

Original King James Version

I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills,
from whence cometh my help.

My help cometh from the LORD,
which made heaven and earth.

He will not suffer thy foot to be moved:
he that keepeth thee will not slumber.

Behold, he that keepeth Israel
shall neither slumber nor sleep.

The LORD is thy keeper:
the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.

The sun shall not smite thee by day,
nor the moon by night.

The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil:
he shall preserve thy soul.

The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in
from this time forth, and even for evermore.

. . . .

I wish everyone much joy and happiness… may you all live long, fruitful lives blessed with much love, peace, compassion and understanding… this is my prayer and meditation at this very moment…
