And if we are critical of our country isn’t that being just as patriotic because we care about our country?
If someone might look at you as being non-patriotic, but you feel a certain <3 for your country that others don’t see because you don’t wear your patriotism on your sleeve, do I have to prove it to them?
Should your depth of patriotism be determined by the color of your skin?
Every week I play patriotic songs for the old folks who’ve lived through World War II… And every week I help them (and myself) to rekindle those feelings of patriotism in a musical way.
I had gravitated toward playing patriotic songs every week because the people I play for have memory issues, and patriotic songs (music in general) has the power to reinforce strong feelings of patriotism and helping to bring back memories.
Today is the country’s Independence Day, and it’s special to play patriotic songs to commemorate the occasion.
I play patriotic songs every week and am proud of the fact that not every musician can do this with the type of sincerity and devotion that I have cultivated. I say this humbly, because I am simply doing so in musical service to my audience.

God Bless America…
