Bitcoin: To Invest, Or Not To Invest
Bitcoin: “a type of digital currency in which encryption techniques are used to regulate the generation of units of currency and verify the transfer of funds, operating independently of a central bank.”
Bitcoin as an investment is making me wonder whether I’m an old school, conservative investor or simply out-of-touch with the impending future of investing.
But here’s the thing…
To me, Bitcoin is a highly speculative investment. I mean, it’s a cryptocurrency, and I don’t even invest in dollars or euros!
Plus, I like to invest in companies, because they are the gears of our economy. There are people in those companies that actually work toward a common goal, whether it’s to provide services, sell products or both. And, they all want to become highly profitable!
What is a cryptocurrency?
And what are we actually investing in?
Yes, highly speculative. And, even the stock market can be treated like a gambling house if you trade that way.
But, I’ve realized that I invest in companies and the people who run them.
And that is the big difference.
Besides, I can’t even afford 1 Bitcoin!
So for now I’ll pass…
