Boudhanath Stupa: Kathmandu, Nepal

After seeing the Himalayas at Nagarkot, Nepal, we went to Kathmandu (the capital city) a few days later.

It is there we saw the Boudhanath Stupa, one of the biggest stupas in the world and revered by Tibetans and Buddhists everywhere.

I was told that there are over 100 Buddhist monasteries surrounding the Boudhanath Stupa area. Prayer wheels surround the stupa, and Buddhists circle the stupa clockwise and spin the prayer wheels, chanting mantras.
