Caterpillar and 3M Gaps Up This Morning

It was a pleasant surprise that Caterpillar (CAT) had gapped up this morning, and two days after posting dividends.

3M (MMM) also gapped up, but I don’t have any shares, and I’ll have to wait until it gets closer to its 52-week low. I’d love to get into some shares at the right time. But then again, I’m still on the hunt for better performers.

The DOW was up some 165 points today, and another rally sent many stocks soaring.

I’m trying to re-construct the portfolio with more top-notch performers with decent dividends.

And I still have those stocks with dividends dripping, well, some of them.

I’m always debating whether to add one more to DRIPs.

Other than that, I’m also trying to get one or two ETFs to add to the portfolio. Today I added some shares of VOO,
which is an Exchange Trade Fund (index fund) that tracks the S&P 500, like SPY. Typically, these types of ETFs are stable and continue to consistently grow throughout the year. They also provide a modest dividend.

And yes, I’m looking at SPY and IGM as well.

More on this later.

I’m out…
