Cecil the Lion and A Yogic Diet

I think that for a Yogi who is simultaneously following the Vegan path (because it is basically a Yogic Diet of non-violence), forgiveness is key.

Cecil the Lion’s death is a tragedy, but there are also countless/billions of animals killed by the multi-billion dollar meat industry every year for profit and greed. Their living conditions while alive are horrific beyond belief.

Are we to harbor anger and hatred toward all the people who eat these animals?

In essence, they are the ones killing the animals because they have established a demand which the slaughter houses simply fill. Take away that demand and the meat industry will go away.

Am I angry and disgusted with family and friends who are a part of this vicious cycle?

And what of those people who are trying to transition to a Vegan lifestyle but are having a hard time?

What about family members who are avid meat eaters?

You have to forgive and keep your mind pure of negative emotions.

Compassion for all living sentient beings.
