D9: Including A Recap of Labor Day Weekend Indulgences

Well, time flies and it’s been several days since I last updated about the Detox Challenge.

Basically, I took somewhat of a breather from the Detox Diet, mainly because I wasn’t going to fight the tendencies to indulge during the Labor Day Weekend.

I mean, why fight it?

After all, I anticipated that I would do the best I can and indulge and not feel guilty about it.

It makes me think that (for next year) it would be an excellent idea to start a Detox Diet after Labor Day Weekend… more practical and realistic.

Weekend Indulgences

Reviewing the food eaten during my last post, I ate pretty healthy and followed my Detox Challenge until Dinner Time, when I indulged in 3 slices of pizza. So to me, that was the first indulgence for the 3-day weekend.

On Saturday…

Breakfast ~ Oatmeal, Starbucks Grande Soy Mocha, No Whip

Lunch ~ Sushi and Dumplings from Mitsuwa, Iced Water

Dinner ~ Performed at a Wedding Reception and ate what was available: Brown Rice, Grilled Veggies, Green Salad, Dinner Roll, Chicken Breast (actually, a pretty healthy meal for a wedding reception)

Post-Gig ~ *indulgence* KFC Chicken (grilled and extra-crispy), Double Chocolate Gelato

On Sunday…

Breakfast ~ Just had another Starbucks Grande Iced Soy Mocha, No Whip

Lunch ~ More Sushi and Dumplings (leftovers from previous day), Iced Water

Dinner ~ More KFC Chicken (leftovers), *indulgence* Dark Chocolate Ice Cream Bar, Iced Water

On Monday…

Breakfast ~ Starbucks Grande Iced Soy Mocha, No Whip

Lunch ~ *indulgence* Tin Fish (1/2 Salmon Taco, Calamari, Breaded Fish, Shrimp, Scallops, Grilled Fries), Organic Chocolate Milk 2%, Iced Water

Dinner ~ Two Salmon Burgers (from Whole Foods), Watermelon, *indulgence* Dark Chocolate Ice Cream Bar, Iced Water

Today’s Food Intake

Note: Check back, as this section will be updated throughout the day.

And, I’m going to try to get back on track with the Detox Challenge. As you can see, I had several “indulgences” over the weekend.


Old Fashioned Oatmeal with Banana Slices
Decaf Summatra Coffee with raw sugar


Baked Salmon ~ 3 ounces
Brown Rice ~ 1 cup, cooked

Late Lunch

Smoked Saba (mackerel)
Brown Rice ~ 1 cup, cooked

Afternoon Tea

Small Fish Fillet
Spumoni Ice Cream ~ 1 small bowl


Smoked Saba (mackerel)
Chopped Onions & Tomatoes
Brown Rice ~ 1 cup, cooked
