Day 2: More Pruning Is Needed

This post covers the beginning of a 30 Day project towards creating a new garden.

Most of the work is aimed at improving a garden that already exists, and where shrubs and trees have already been established.

So, a lot of pruning and trimming will be required, as well as planting new plants.

A Day of Pruning

I didn’t get the chance to post photos of today’s work, so you’ll have to settle for the early evening photos signifying a long day of working in the garden and taking a long hike up Iron Mountain. I’m beat.

But basically I did a LOT of pruning and trimming of trees and shrubs, which is going to continue again tomorrow. There is just a LOT of work to do that I haven’t been doing in a while. And, I don’t have a gardener to take care of the landscaping chores, so I have to really buckle down and get this all done.

I’m also going to have to make at least a couple trips to the landfill.

Action List

Unchecked items will just have to be done tomorrow. I think I had a productive day of at least 2 hours pruning and trimming shrubs. Need to continue this tomorrow, and it will probably be ongoing throughout the 30 day challenge.

✓ Sweep Patio.

✓ Water all plants.

3. Wet and turn the compost pile.

4. Trim Bird of Paradise.

✓ Trim and prune plants.

✓ Pull weeds.

7. Trim citrus trees.

8. Re-condition soil and mulch.

9. Dig hole for Calamansi Tree (almost done).
