Friday, June 8, 2018: DOW Down -29.52 Pts, NASDAQ Falls -28.02 Tech Stocks Fade

Tech Stocks Fade After Rallying

DOW +20.90   •   NASDAQ -17.68   •   SP500 -0.53   •   NYSE -19.92

Tech Stocks (especially the FAANG stocks) faded into oblivion today. And bank stocks surged after hours and pre-market, but struggled to stay in the green.

Most stocks in the DOW did well yesterday staying in the green while NASDAQ stocks took a bit of a hit. But this morning we are mostly in the red since the G7 Summit has brought about talks of stiff Trade Tariffs again.

Trump is pushing a hard line with regards to trade tariffs. It does create volatility and uncertainty in the stock market, but the volatility could be welcomed by dat traders and short term traders.

Will it be a good time to buy into the dip with tech stocks like AAPL and FB? I don’t know… but I think it would be a good idea to continue watching the FAANG stocks to see if they continue their fall and buy on the dip when things start looking up again.

Portfolio Hits Highest Percentage Gain in 2018

The portfolio has reached a high of 31 percent gain. This is finally good news since the stock market had been struggling overall since January 2018, just after Trump’s SOTU address.

And the stock market seems to show some resilience to continued trade talks and stiff tariffs, although the G7 Summit is the next challenge.

I’m trying to acquire all FAANG stocks, but it’s important to wait until the right moment to buy these highly volatile, yet high performing stocks.
