Gardening Notes: Confessions of a Plant Killer

*Sigh* I killed so many plants last year. I mean, some really nice hybrid tea roses.

My problem was that I lacked a proper irrigation system, and when I went away for a week or two, the garden simply suffered from neglect… and water!

Okay. I’ve said it, and that’s why I haven’t posted garden photos in such a long time.

But, it’s time to bounce back. It’s just that it makes it hard to bounce back when such beautiful gardens I’ve seen that makes me want to sell all my gardening tools.

Still, my goal has always been to create the most awesome meditation garden.

The goal is serenity and tranquility over all else.

When at first you don’t succeed, try and try again… right?

So, that is the place where I am right now. I need to pick up the pieces and start cleaning up my garden first.

Then, I need to re-condition the soil.

And then, ensure there is a constant, balanced supply of water for my given micro-system.

My garden isn’t a complete loss… I mean, it just needs to be cleaned up and new flowers and shrubs planted.

I have trees and shrubs that are well-established, and my lawn looks halfway decent. And, my backyard is already pretty much landscaped. So it’s not like I’m starting from scratch.

I just need to get back to working on it. I’ve neglected it.

More to follow….
